Testing equivalence between distributions using conditional samples
We study a recently introduced framework [7, 8] for property testing of probability distributions, by considering distribution testing algorithms that have access to a conditional sampling oracle. This is an oracle that takes as input a subset S ⊆ [N ] of the domain [N ] of the unknown probability distribution D and returns a draw from the conditional probability distribution D restricted to S....
متن کاملPublication Bias and the Validity of Conditional Reasoning Tests
Analyses were conducted to evaluate the possible presence and influence of publication bias on the validity of conditional reasoning tests for aggression. Multiple publication bias methods yielded results consistent with a conclusion of publication bias suggesting that the reported validity of the conditional reasoning tests may be overestimated.

متن کاملSoftware for Publication Bias
KEY POINTS • Various procedures for addressing publication bias are discussed elsewhere in this volume. The goal of this chapter is to show how these different procedures fit into an overall strategy for addressing bias, and to discuss computer programs that can be used to implement this strategy. • To address publication bias the researcher should proceed through a logical sequence of analyses...
متن کاملPublication policy or publication bias?
Although ‘‘a large number of studies have appeared in the literature that report associations of low penetrance genetic variants with disease,’’ as suggested in the recent CEBP editorial (1), hardly any of these reports have been translated into solid results by replication studies, at least for the common cancers. To some extent this is inevitable, as false-positive associations are an inheren...
